- • The TIMS (Trekkers' Information Management System) Card is required for most trekking routes in Nepal, costing around NPR 1,000 for individual trekkers or NPR 500 for groups.
- • National Park/Conservation Area Permits are necessary for trekking in areas like Annapurna and Sagarmatha (Everest), with fees ranging from NPR 1,000 to NPR 3,000.
- • For trekking in restricted areas like Upper Mustang or Dolpo, you need a special permit, with fees ranging from NPR 10,000 to NPR 50,000 depending on the area.
- • A garbage deposit is charged for trekking in specific regions, such as NPR 4,000 for Everest or NPR 1,000–2,000 for Annapurna, and it’s refunded when trekkers return all their waste.
- • Non-biodegradable waste, including plastic bottles and wrappers, is considered garbage and must be carried back out of the trekking areas.
- • If you use a helicopter for transport, an additional permit and fee may be required, particularly in the Everest region.
- • Certain local municipalities may charge an entry fee for regions like the Kathmandu Valley or Pokhara.
