- • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Tourist visas are available on arrival for USD 30–125, depending on the duration of your stay.
- • Recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Tetanus. Travel insurance is strongly advised to cover medical emergencies or trip cancellations.
- • You may carry up to NPR 50,000 in local currency. Check restrictions on bringing items like alcohol, tobacco, or wildlife products.
- • Dress modestly, especially when visiting temples or rural areas. Always remove your shoes before entering religious sites.
- • Obtain special permits if you plan to trek in restricted areas such as the Annapurna or Everest regions.
- • Avoid single-use plastics, dispose of waste properly, and respect wildlife and the environment to help preserve Nepal’s natural beauty.
- • Always ask for permission before photographing people, especially in religious or rural settings. Some temples or government buildings prohibit photography.
- • Mobile and internet coverage may be limited in remote areas. Inform someone of your itinerary before trekking in isolated regions.
- • Check weather conditions before trekking or engaging in outdoor activities. Monsoon season (June–September) may make travel hazardous due to landslides and flooding.
- • Drug use is strictly prohibited. Avoid public displays of affection, and respect local laws and traditions at all times.
- • Keep contact numbers of your embassy, local police, and hospitals handy. Nepalese emergency number is 100 for police and 101 for fire.
